{"id":232,"date":"2026-09-12T01:26:06","date_gmt":"2026-09-11T16:26:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.klesis.or.jp\/?p=232"},"modified":"2026-09-12T01:26:06","modified_gmt":"2026-09-11T16:26:06","slug":"klesis-tokyo-gathering-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.klesis.or.jp\/?p=232","title":{"rendered":"Klesis Tokyo Gathering Report"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Friday, August 28, we held the <strong>Klesis Tokyo Gathering<\/strong> at Ochanomizu Christian Center in Tokyo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We opened registration with a maximum capacity of 30 participants\u2014and we were grateful that all 30 showed up, with not a single cancellation! People came from different places and backgrounds to join us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Christian businesspeople working across a wide variety of industries and professions gathered together in one place. It was wonderful to experience the kind of fellowship, conversation, and connection that can only happen when we meet face-to-face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/en.klesis.or.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_3538-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-234\" srcset=\"https:\/\/en.klesis.or.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_3538-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/en.klesis.or.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_3538-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/en.klesis.or.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_3538-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/en.klesis.or.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_3538.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our speaker for the evening was <strong>Yuki Nakamura<\/strong>, who launched his own tax accounting firm this summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mr. Nakamura and his wife traveled all the way from Nagoya to join us, and he openly and honestly shared where God has brought him at this point in his journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mr. Nakamura previously participated in Klesis\u2019 core nine-week program, <strong>\u201cDiscovering Your Calling.\u201d<\/strong> Drawing from that experience, he shared candidly about:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the insights he gained through the program,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the struggles and tensions he has experienced in the business world,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>his relationship with God,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>how he has come to understand and steward his God-given talents,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>what he has learned through his work, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>how he is putting his calling into practice in the realities of everyday business.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u201cWhat is God\u2019s calling for my life here on earth?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He shared about the journey of bringing that question before God\u2014praying, listening for His voice, recognizing the talents God has entrusted to him, understanding the needs of the world around him, and then taking concrete steps of faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/en.klesis.or.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/177615-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-235\" srcset=\"https:\/\/en.klesis.or.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/177615-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/en.klesis.or.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/177615-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/en.klesis.or.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/177615-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/en.klesis.or.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/177615-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/en.klesis.or.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/177615.jpg 1706w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also shared the specific Scriptures God has used to guide him along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The participants were divided into five groups of six, gathered around tables together. Many were Christian businesspeople who had never met one another before. Over a delicious dinner, they shared about their work and faith, listened to one another\u2019s stories, and encouraged one another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the gathering, many participants left smiling and told us how impactful the evening had been. One thing that especially stood out was how much the atmosphere in the room changed over the course of the evening. By the time everyone was leaving, it almost felt as though the temperature in the room had risen a couple of degrees\u2014the conversations had deepened, new connections had formed, and the room was filled with warmth and energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Christians are said to make up less than one percent of Japan\u2019s population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Within that small minority, the number of Christians who are serving Christ day by day in the marketplace may be smaller still. That made simply being able to gather in the same place, meet one another, and share our lives and experiences incredibly meaningful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>John 15:5<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing without me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What matters is not that we try harder on our own to produce fruit, but that we remain connected to Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As we abide in the Lord and walk with Him, He bears fruit through our work, our vocations, and our lives. And along the way, He allows us to meet others who are also abiding in Him\u2014people with whom we can connect, encourage one another, and walk together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This gathering gave us a beautiful glimpse of what that can look like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We want to listen to God, receive strength from Him, and walk with Him in the marketplace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We believe this calling is not reserved for a select few.
