Klesis Tokyo Small-Group Gatherings (July 11, November 7)

In a fast-paced city like Tokyo, meaningful conversations about faith and work are often pushed to the margins of busy professional lives. Yet many business professionals quietly carry deep questions—about purpose, calling, and how to live faithfully in the workplace. Klesis exists to create space for those conversations to happen.

Although Klesis is primarily built around online learning, we also believe deeply in the value of meeting face to face. In Tokyo, we host small-group networking gatherings that create space for meaningful conversation, mutual encouragement, and spiritual reflection.

Through the generous support of JCF Tokyo, a church based at the Ochanomizu Christian Center, we have been able to secure a venue that allows us to gather regularly. Each meeting is intentionally kept small—usually no more than ten participants—so that everyone has the opportunity to speak, listen, and engage deeply.

In July and November, we were grateful to welcome Hiro Isogawa as our guest speaker. Together, we explored a central and very practical question for professionals of faith:

“How do we hear God’s voice in our work?”

The conversations that followed were thoughtful, honest, and deeply enriching, touching on real workplace challenges, personal calling, and spiritual discernment.

Looking ahead, we plan to continue offering these in-person gatherings in Tokyo alongside our online programs. Our hope is to provide a welcoming place where business professionals can connect with one another, encourage one another, and grow together—reflecting on their work, their calling, and their ongoing spiritual formation in everyday life.
